the cartier, "juste un clou", bracelet designed by aldo cipullo is going to be relaunched (announced in the march harper's bazaar). roman designer, cipullo, began working in italy and eventually moved to the states in 1959 to study at the school of visual arts in new york city. he got started working with david webb and tiffany. he began to work with cartier in the late sixties, after designing costume jewelry for trifari. in 1969 he came out with the love bracelet that could only come on and off with a screwdriver. throughout his career with cartier he experimented with new design techniques, such as using nails and dollar signs. he said, “to repeat the past is an easy way to get out of thinking, it’s an escape. The important thing is to reflect the present” (from faerber family site). i am looking forward to seeing "juste un clou's" second debut in the next coming month's.

while perusing harper's bazaar on the treadmill, i came across a lovely ad with one of my favorite models of the moment, lindsey wixon. the shoot has a fun, springy, retro vibe. the shoot was styled by julia von boehm and shot by terry richardson. i love how the bright setting brings out the patterns and textures of the clothing. it is easy to see how much fun wixon had during the shoot, and you can never forget those amazing lips and dimples after viewing these images. take a look below.

mara hoffman, nyfw fall 2012

naturally, i loved mara hoffman's ready to wear line for fall 2012. the collection consisted of bohemian and tribal printed dresses and spectacularly dyed knitwear. her line was inspired by the cool, chic, and bohemian urban girl. the most amazing part of the collection were the maxi dresses, covered in the recognizable, bohemian mara hoffman prints. the wide brimmed hats and chunky metal jewelry on the models gave off a western bohemian type of vibe. my two favorite pieces are most definitely the long flowing black dresses with plunging necklines and lovely cutouts.

i am loving zimmerman's swim 2012 collection shot in malibu. henrik purienne took the wonderful shots for the ad campaign. the line contains animal prints and bright colored swimwear, along with dresses and coverups. also take a peak at purienne's tumblr, here, his images are super, super rad. he has shot for american apparel many a times. take a peak at the zimmerman swimwear images below.

this past friday, dvf and current/elliot announced their denim collaboration. the line will include 80s inspired printed skinny jeans and denim pencil skirts. chelsea zalopany of the new york times quotes, ""current/elliott knows denim,” and “diane is the queen of prints”- that made for such a seamless co-creation." this cool collaboration will be out this month.

amanda assad mounser is a new york based jewelry designer. her line is inspired by 1970s glam rock. she has a strong fashion background and has worked with companies such as moschino. amanda tells block magazine that she originally found her inspiration from artists like david bowie and the rolling stones. she is also influenced by the british rock type of style she describes as "bohemian, yet glamorous." some of her career highlights include meeting Rihanna at a glamour shoot and having her jewelry featured on the cover of nylon magazine. take the time to read her interview with block magazine, here; she has done some really cool things.

featured in the new york times fashion section last may, brooklyn-based designer suzannah wainhouse is inspirational and someone worth sharing. wainhouse has strong values and believes that all art should be created by hand. she works with paint as well as metal and gets her inspiration from patterns in nature and the concept of primitivism in creation. she works with hand tools and explains that, "anything can become an artifact" (New York Times, Women's Fashion). take a look at her spring 2011 look book, here.

inspired by travel and fantasy, mara hoffman's spring swimsuit line is stunning. her looks give off tribal vibes with the bold prints and sharp colors. i've always loved her creative use of cut outs and unique embellishments on her swimwear. her suits are energetic and unique, much different than a plain old bikini. remember, spring break is just around the corner!

as well, take a peak at mara hoffman's artistic collaboration design series and pop-up shop in miami (that debuted december first). hoffman worked with multiple artists to produce their work on her swimwear or leggings. only fifteen of each item was produced, and each was signed by the artist. pretty cool i'd say. take a look at the mercedes-benz fashion week post, here.

although the collection debuted september in milan, just cavalli's spring/summer ad campaign is something worth sharing. i came across the ad in february's elle magazine and fell in love with the playful and sexy terry richardson image, along with the most amazing dress for spring. i adore the rock and bohemian inspired looks with studs, tight jeans, flowing dresses and edgy patterned fabrics. the use of animal prints and studs definitely defines this line. take a look at this fall's past show, the music and interesting layout of the runway are quite fun (video).

designer elie saab debuted his spring collection in paris this week. in 1982 saab launched his first beirut-based label. as his line grew, he opened up shop in milan and paris. he was the first non-italian designer to become a member of the italian camera nazionale della moda. by 1998 he was showing his collections in rome, milan, and monaco. in 2003 the chambre syndicale de la haute couture invited saab to become a member. he showed his first haute couture line in paris, in 2003.

the spring line he debuted this week was absolutely stunning. the vintage theme and light pastel palette was beautiful. the gowns almost seemed to float. the sheerness and lightness of the fabrics and floral decals make his line one of a kind. frosty blue details in the fabric give an ice princess type of feel to the entire collection. take a look at some of the images below. i am so glad to have just discovered this designer's collection. it is fabulous.

karl lagerfeld debuted his all blue spring collection tuesday in paris. the show was inspired by air planes, in which the guests sat in seats and the models walked down the aisle. servers, or flight attendants, served guests champagne as they watched the show. images of clouds, chanel monograms, and swiveling seats allowed for prime viewing pleasure. lagerfeld used 154 different shades of blue in this collection. "Blue is a palette all in itself," Lagerfeld said, "the colour of air, of the sky, or the eyes of a little cat" — like the one he was recently given as a gift (according to a canadian news report). models wore their hair combed and teased straight up and were adorned in drop pendant earrings. there were many long coats, dresses, and sheer evening wear walking up and down the runway. one of the most amazing details of the show was the embellishments made upon the gowns. beading, embroidery, and the unique use of plastic detailed the dresses. this show was definitely very unique and innovative. take a look at some of the images below.

this brazilian photographer (currently based out of barcelona, spain) is fabulous. he is called eudes de santana. his work is quite prevalent on many blogs, flickr, and tumblr. his portfolio is super rad. i am kind of a little obsessed with his work. i love how his work is natural and the models don't have a ton of makeup on or their hair all done up. his look is youthful, playful, and fun. i suggest you look at the website to see more images, eudesdesantana.com.

first off, vanessa mooney's spring preview and spring/summer collection are truly amazing. the cuffs and layered bracelets are so cool, along with the pops of turquoise in many of the pieces. i am also loving the use of colored beads in the pieces. the bags in the upcoming collection are also fabulous with beaded details. the mix of metalwork, stones, and beads is utterly unique and interesting. one of my favorite pieces this upcoming season is a turquoise beaded brass piece with a pendant of three set stones. it is absolutely stunning!

one of my favorite bands, sleigh bells just announced their upcoming florida tour (tour dates). the band is composed of derek miller and alexis krauss. in 2009, the duo was signed to M.I.A.'s N.E.E.T. recordings. the power punk, edgy, harcore group performed at pitchfork music festival in july of 2010, which was a show i attended. their first album is called treats, which i highly recommend listening to. they are coming out with a new album entitled reign of terror, which will be released towards the end of februrary. alexis krauss is quite a trendy lady. watching her bass filled performance was something i don't think i will ever forget.

One of my favorite trends for summer is the maxi dress. I love the long flowing dresses which are so cute paired with strappy sandals and a floppy hat. Some of my favorites include T-Bags' tie dye dress, Free People's ruffled dress, and Diane Von Furstenberg's abstract print dress. I love the hippie style dresses, I think they are so fun for summer. Alexander Mcqueen's Spring Summer collection stood out with his amazingly unique and crazy designed shoes. The shoes all have a futuristic feel with bone structured designs and metal parts, and all the shoes are nearly ten inches tall. Each shoe seems to come out of a sci-fi or fairytale. These shoes really stood for themselves on the runway, absolutely amazing!

Project M Boutique just opened in Riverwest. The boutique carries clothing and accessories from local Wisconsin designers. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to do a photo shoot with them. Cartier and America

Yesterday, in San Francisco, my family visited the Legion of Honor Museum to view the Cartier and America exhibit. The exhibit contains the diamond pieces of the 1920s and 1930s and more unique creations with precious and semi-precious stone carvings. Watches, clocks, tiaras, necklaces, bracelets, and some of the most amazing jewelry filled the exhibit. Some of my favorite pieces had stone carvings of coral and sapphire. The emerald pieces were also exquisite. Cartier's designs are all so outstanding and so detailed. The bezels on his rings have intricate heart details, diamonds, and rubies. There was a snake necklace with over 2,000 diamonds and enamel that moved and flowed to mimic a snake's slither. Every piece created went through so much planning and thought. It was such a beautiful exhibit.

The red carpet was filled with gowns last night, but only a few dresses caught my eye. Many dresses were on the boring side, but Chanel, as always, stood out. I adore Diane Kruger's and Sarah Jessica Parker's gowns. The halter, exquisite train, and flower detail on Diane's dress is simply beautiful and flattering. Sarah's dress is so unique; the neckline is outstanding and the flower detail on the back is so unexpected. Chanel's gowns are always so classic and stunning!

Paris Fashion Week

Valentino's collection for spring was incredible. The clothes all have an airy, lightweight feel to them. Intricate lace and detail make each piece stand out. I adore the shoes with the black wiring on the heel. The black pleated jumpsuit with the lace on the top has great movement and flow to it. The long dress is exquisite. I love the sheerness with the detailed applique and mesh-like design along the neckline. Each piece has its own movement down the runway and all the garments flow together with one another. This is definitely one of my favorite collections from Paris Fashion Week!

Anna Sui and Zac Posen

Anna Sui's Fall 2010 line was to die for! I love all the warm mixed prints, layering, and knit garments. She mixed lighter skirts with heavier sweaters, which I think works out amazingly! All the reds, plums, and browns are perfect for fall! The unique tight trend continues, as Anna Sui presented unique patterns and lacy tights.

Another one of my favorite lines was Zac Posen. I am obsessed with his red velvet dress. The fit and bodice are just amazing, and I love how he accented the beautiful color with sheer red tights. I also really liked the little black ballerinaesque dress. The bodice, once again is great! His color palette worked so well. More Fashion Week updates will continue this week! New Favorites at Shopbop

Shopbop's new spring items just keep getting better and better. Joie came out with a great line of spring sandals. I just love these white cutout flats. Another one of my favorites is the Cleobella mini bag. I love the bright turquoise color! The Alkemie stingray ring is so very cool. There have been so many rings lately with animals, and a stingray is a pretty unique choice. I can't wait to see the rest of the early spring collections, and am looking forward to seeing spring and late spring!

Winter Fashion Shoot

Over the previous winter, I did a test shoot with photographer Adam Randolph and Allison from ANTM! I totally forgot about these pictures, but the cold weather reminded me of this neat shoot. We went down to the beach in heels in absolutely freezing weather! We also experimented with a giant fishing rope, which was a really cool addition to the shoot. It was a neat way to experience modeling with an expert photographer and a very experienced model. I am hoping to have more opportunities to take photographs as the weather gets warmer!

J. Crew Early Spring

J. Crew's early spring catalogue is quite fabulous! It has a sort of nautical feel with neutral colors and trendy accessories. I love the suede metallic boat shoe and the coral studded bag. The floral rain coat is a definite must have when spring rolls around. J. Crew, as usual, came out with a great spring jewelry line. The pearl and stone earrings are one of my favorites! I'm looking forward to making a shopping trip to J. Crew soon!

Missoni Spring 2010

Missoni's spring 2010 line is absolutely outstanding. The sweaters are neutral in color, in shades of grey, tan, blue, green, and orange. The concept behind the line is relaxed and warm, and Angela Missoni chose to shoot her family in the spring ad campaign. The collection is simply amazing; I adore it!

Chain Trend

This spring chain detail will be a huge trend. The most recent spring Neiman Marcus catalogue featured many sandals with chain detail. Christian Louboutin and Giuseppe Zanotti did a great job showing off this new trend in a unique way. I especially like the chain mail type of style that the Christian Louboutin shoe has. I feel like this trend is something new and different and am looking forward to seeing if it grows.

Spring Trends For 2010

Neutral colors are first on the list for big spring trends. Muted colors can be paired with bright accents to complete an outfit. Color splashes for the upcoming season include bright blue shades, corals, reds, deep and soft yellows, light washed out pinks, and beige greens and grays. Cutouts are next on the list. Showing off some skin under lace or with an open back or side is second on the trend report. Cutouts are one of the best ways to show off your figure without being too revealing! Metallics and feathers are making their way back again for the upcoming spring! Be sure to buy your metallic blazers and fun feathered skirts! I am looking forward to sporting the spring trends once all the snow melts!

Fashion Week Continues...

...with amazing spring pieces! Rosa Cha showed a bright and polka-dot filled swim suit line. Cynthia Steffe showed a line full of ruffles and florals, which I am quite fond of! Charlotte Ronson's spring line was absolutely amazing, with a punk vibe, lace, and a mostly black color scheme. Christian Siriano of Project Runway showed a "fierce" collection filled with vibrant long gowns. Vivienne Tam's collection reminded me of the 70s, filled with butterflies and natural colors. Derek Lam showed bright colors with beading and sequins; such beautiful pieces! DVF's show, as always, absolutely amazing! She is such a fashion god! I can't wait to comment on the rest of the shows this week!

First Day of Fashion Week!

The first shows of Fashion Week were quite amazing. I really enjoyed Ports 1961 and Mara Hoffman. Mara Hoffman showed some really amazing dresses down her runway. They were bright and made from truly unique textiles. I can't wait to see the rest of the shows this week!

Rebecca Taylor Sketches

As we all know fashion week starts September 10th and goes until the 17th! I am super excited to see all the spring collections! Starting Thursday, BGBG, Cynthia Steffe, Charlotte Ronson, Nicole Miller, Derek Lam, DVF, Rebecca Taylor, Zac Posen, Carolina Herrera, Badgley Mischka, Milly, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Isaac Mizrahi all will be showing their Spring 2010 lines (just to name a few)! I am especially excited for DVF and Rebecca Taylor! They always have amazing pieces going down the runway! I can't wait to post all the runway collections and comment on what I think of the spring lines!

Senior Pictures

Over the previous weekend, I took my senior yearbook pictures. We took them outside in a field of long grass and at an abandoned copy shop. The pictures turned out really great, and I put together some nice outfits for them. I wore a floral dress and double buckle belt, and my friend's floral top and white cutoff shorts. The photographer, Megan, was really fun to work with and had some creative ideas. I am looking forward to seeing the rest of them.

R.J. Cutler's film, The September Issue, delves deep into the life of Anna Wintour, the editor and chief of Vogue magazine. As everyone knows, the September issue of Vogue is filled to the brim with fashion and trends, therefore it tends to weigh in at nearly four pounds. The movie takes us through the journey of Anna and her crew during the completion of the September issue itself. Fashion Week, photo shoots, journeys to Europe, and staff meetings are all included in the strenuous process of completing the issue on time. The movie delves deep into the conflicts between Anna and Vogue's creative director Grace Coddington. Both women have taken roles in Vogue for over fourteen years. The movie shows the crazy process of creating the September issue through showing designers and their pieces and editors and their work. Anna Wintour is the center of fashion, and she can decide what is in an what is out through her greatly deserved influence. I am looking forward to seeing this movie come out. Be sure to see it when it on September 11th in select cities!

With some of the coolest shoes, Antik Batik sells the most trendy embellished sandals. With ribbon, beads, and fringe, the shoes stand out with an ethnic and chic flair. Antik Batik has most of their stores in Europe, with only one store in America (New York). The shoes were featured in the June/July issue of Teen Vogue (pictured above).

Michelle Smith's fall collection sticks with natural tones such as blacks, browns, and carmels; however her pieces stand out due to their singular qualities and design features. Many designs included lace and layers, and there were a plethora of dresses on the runway. Accessories were used to top off each garment, such as scarves, head wear, and gloves.

Madewell is J. Crew's sister store which appeals to younger women and has more casual clothing. I went to the store at the Short Hill's mall in New Jersey, and I absolutely fell in love with the apparel. The store had unique gladiator sandals with zipper detail, colorful embroidered scarves, bleach died jeans, and everything was at an affordable price. There are only eighteen stores in the US, and hopefully they will start opening more and more! Be sure to check out the website to view the latest Madewell trends lookbook!

X Marc's the Spot

Marc Jacob's fall 2009 collection is absolutely amazing. It consists of structural pieces, neons, and big shoulders. The collection is based off of 80's fashions, with mohawks and big sunglasses. Models wore Nars makeup, which gave off a very edgy feel. The color palette consists of blacks, dark purples, and golds. Marc Jacobs yet again showed another unforgettable collection.

Shopping in Phili, my family and I came across a really cute store. Off of Rittenhouse Row, Knitwit has some really unique pieces. I found the coolest top, J-brand jeans, and beaded elastic belts. The top has really intricate orange embroidery and the jeans are really trendy with the distressing and worn-out parts. The store holds many well known brands such as Ella Moss and Alice and Olivia. As well, it has some one of a kind pieces, such as the shirt that I purchased. Visit Knitwitonline.com, I highly recommend it!

Summer Dresses

I just put together two summer looks, which happen to both involve dresses! In the first outfit I put together, I am wearing a grey Splendid dress, my mom's elastic gold belt, and Enzo Angiolin metallic gold T-strap sandals. In the Second outfit I am wearing my friend's off-white Urban Outfitters dress, along with Sam Edelman weaved sandals, and my grandmother's vintage leather bag. It's really nice to be able to throw on a dress, pair it with some accessories, and run out the door! I am looking forward to the warm weather ahead!

Bright shorts paired with neutral tops embody both of these summer trends.

I got two pairs are really cute shoes by Sam Edelman for summer. The first pair is a woven leather wedge, and the second pair is a denim grey wedge with flower embroidery and detail. Both pairs are really trendy for the upcoming season. As for the outfits, the first dress is an Urban Outfitters floral ruffle dress, and the bottom dress is a purple and white floral silk.

These are some of my favorite summer dresses. The Marc by Marc Jacobs is really adorable with voluminous pleats. Inspired by the floral trend, the Shoshanna romper is very unique and fashionable. Rebecca Taylor designed a very feminine and perfect-fitting dress. And lastly, Mara Hoffman created a Moroccan inspired printed dress. Each dress represents a summer trend!

Kinda random, but I came up with a cool idea on how to store all of your fashionable scarves. I just nailed up a sturdy rope, and tied my favorite scarves to it. I think it looks pretty cool in the room as well.

Here I'm wearing an American Apparel white cotton dress and mauve vest, and Linea Pelle Dar purple belt that has rivets and rhinestones on it. It is fun spring outfit, once the weather gets warmer. Also, I got the coolest Nike Dunks from Provider in Australia. They have patchwork floral patterns on them. The floral is perfect for the upcoming season! Lastly, I am wearing a dark green crochet shirt, J-brand jeans, and a great pair of Joie boots from New York. I am really looking forward for it to get nice out, and to be able to not wear coats!
